San Vito lo Capo, what to see in 2 days?

For my first weekend of freedom, I chose a little field trip. „San Vito lo Capo, what to see in 2 days“ is a little guide for a trip a bit out of the usual clichés.

I’m Francesca and I traveled around the world for work. Since I got back to Sicily I stopped taking planes and started to rediscover my island by car.

Today I tell you about an unusual San Vito, which enchants you with a Caribbean beach and amazes you with an adventure in the mountains.

San Vito lo Capo postcard sea

San Vito Lo Capo

A calm and crystal clear sea, which has been awarded several times with the Blue Flag and also this year with the Green Flag (Paediatricians Association).

The large beach is in fact perfect for families and children: just under three kilometres of white sand where you can build sand castles and shallow waters for safe bathing.

On the beach you will find both free spaces and beaches and there is also a section equipped for the disabled (Zero Barriere Beach).

In summer San Vito is full of tourists and its nightlife, together with the excursions you can make in the surrounding area, make it a perfect destination even for young people looking for adventure and fun.

San Vito lo Capo climbing unforgettable

Seafront walls and limestone rocks: for climbers from all over the world the cliffs of Cala Mancina are a true paradise.

Since 2009 San Vito Lo Capo has been the destination of one of the most popular climbing festivals, the San Vito Lo Capo Climbing Festival which takes place between October and November.

I met by chance an association that organizes excursions even for beginners and it was a really incredible experience, one of the most terrifying and at the same time exciting things I have ever done in my life.

I have difficulty describing exactly what I felt, to give you an idea I’ll let you read an excerpt from my diary:

I’ve learned that travel is like a mountain climb:

The greatest fear is inside my head,

it’s the partner that makes the difference.

Like when, face to the wall, all I could think about was…

that I couldn’t overcome that obstacle.

But the voice said to me, „move your hand to the right,

that you have a foothold that you can’t see.“

Or when the wall looked smooth and I thought I’d quit.

But the voice incited me, „trust your legs…

even though the supports are really small,

that right afterwards there’s a good grip and

a balcony on which you can rest.

Travel moments

San Vito lo Capo is really nice for a trip from April to October and there are many events that make the holiday here even more interesting.

The only flaw in summer is the traffic returning on Sundays, be careful not to leave too late because you risk being bottled up for several hours.
